Error and Rebellion

Error is a mistake. We all have mistakes in our thinking and expression. As believers reason together by the Spirit, our errors can be corrected. Rebellion is when believers know our mistake, and we continue in it. Rebellion is common in Christendom today. We’ve bought the lie that to live righteously is to swim at the shallow end of the pool. When speaking of His Second Coming to this earth, Jesus asked, “However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find the faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8. Jesus saw our day, when sound faith in Him alone would be hard to find.

The third theatre of the War of Independence

The Founders never intended for slavery to be an ongoing part of the United States of America, my country. The US Constitution does not even contain the words slavery or slave. None of the phrases describing slaves in the document uses the word property to describe slaves, either. The Founders put slavery on a path to extinction. To consider that is not to mention the same intent revealed in the letters and debates the Founders had preceding the Constitution. ...

Why not pot? Why not beer? Why not live with such good cheer?

Why not pot? Why not beer? Why not live with such good cheer?

In recent years, several young adults in churches have asked me about drinking beer. A few have asked me about smoking weed. More are asking. The answer is found in perhaps a hundred different verses, all communicating the same principles. However, since one of the books I am reading through at this time is Leviticus, why not answer them there? If dusty old Leviticus answers their question, perhaps the Biblical evidence runs pretty deep.   The book we know as Leviticus records the way the redeemed Hebrews worshiped God. The book begins...

Living Together is Not the Same as Being Married

Following are excerpts from the study in Sexuality. To obtain the entire study, please email Rick at rick@seed4life.net or call him at 812-319-4907 for more information.   Excerpt from Section Three: Chapter Six: Is Marriage Defined by Culture? No. Marriage before God has never been defined by culture, meaning to be defined by relating to the normal ideas, customs and social behavior of a society. Understanding that was one of the most fruitful things that happened in our group discussion. It likely had an equally encouraging affect on...

Make Sense – to believe every person has the freedom and right to foremost do what makes sense to them. This view is not biblically correct. It is wrong thinking, and smells like smoke because it is from the pit, Ezra 7:21-23; 31-32, Nehemiah 5:1-19, Proverbs 14:12; 16:25. Ezra organized a group of perhaps 4,000 people (Ezra 8:1-20) to continue the work of beautifying the temple and instructing the people living in Jerusalem to sound thinking. The government leaders in Babylon, where Ezra lived, encouraged the Jerusalem work by giving him...

Universalism

Universalism – to believe every person will be rescued from an eternity separated from God. This view is not biblically correct. It is wrong thinking, and smells like smoke because it is from the pit, Luke 8:26-31, Revelation 9:1-11, 20:1-8. Can anger and love coexist? Yes, Mark 3:5, teaches that Jesus (God) can be both angry and grieved at the choices people make. In His righteousness (being correct both in His person and behavior) God can allow people to suffer because of their self-injury and at the same time desire they choose otherwise,...
